The DS Reading Group Chicago is a forum for thinking about, working through, and sharing notes on a range of academic work that contributes to humanistic inquiry in the field of disability studies.
All are welcome to join us–whether you’re just starting to delve into disability studies, whether you’ve been thinking about it long and hard for years, or if you’re somewhere in between. We meet one or two times per month, with a different text on the table each time—-a book or article, a filmic text, a performance, or talk; it could be foundational pieces, new work, or work in progress.
Group members decide the readings, so suggestions are always welcome. We generally hold our meetings on Sundays at 4 pm, at Argo Tea (16 W. Randolph, Chicago IL). View Google Map
